"Circle"

Life is short
but the days are long
Sacramento is small
and Fall is my savior
Nothing says "God" like
running into an old crush
at the mechanic's
Last seen in elementary
Fast forward through more school
vacas, jobs and let downs
Seventeen years later
she still remembers
all the races, four-square bouts, and Popsicles
Remembers when I sang in front of class
to a Boyz 2 Men track
"End of the Road"
...Wow
She never knew that I
was singing for her
Through those shades
seeing her reactions
I made a lasting impression

But that is all in the past
Right?
She's changed, as have I
Catching up, laughing and such
I saw pain in her eyes
Maybe from a life of lies, or bad choices
Whatever it was, she juggled it well
After all this time
I finally confessed
Confessed the crush
A smile peaked though
She gave me a hug said "Awwwe, you"
She also said she crushed on me then also
So,
Where to go from here?
God, tell me how to steer this
Could be nothing,
or could be the start of a beautiful friendship

"I was rollin' around, in my mind it occurred
What if God was a her?"

-Faithful
